Have you sent into NCRS for paperwork showing what dealer your car was shipped to new ?

Larry you have what might be one of the very last COPO Camaros built. Take Charley's advice and get the NCRS report. Seeking out VINs close to your car is not going to help much. COPOs were generally not built in a VIN sequence.

Regarding the roose wherein a previous owner dating back to 1973 found you and wanted to buy the car from you......that is just someone knowing what you had and setting a stage to try and buy it from you. IMO if a prior owner from 1973 had found you and the car, he would want to see it, especially if he was a only a couple hours drive from you. JMHO.
