Default Re: Missing Muscle Cars

I looked through archival pics of both the 67 & 68 cars from various times of each year and post years. ...
The 777 appeared as pictured above ONLY on the 67 model (on the Quarter Panels)
68 car had the # on the door, door glass & C pillar (Quarter sail)

So....what's going on . ..?
A converted 67......
The "Origunal" 67,,,,,, supposedly...that is with 2nd Owners

A 68 that someone cloned or fudged years before the current owners got it ???
After all,,,, they've only had this car for 12 years.

Illusion of past ownership in a sellers story is becoming clearer, if its a fudged car, years ago.

Grump's 67 lived here in the KC area for decades, and was recently sold by the same folks who bought it from the Man himself back in the day. It and the 68 in question are absolutely not the same car.

Pretty sure that was a different car. That's a 68, I believe, and there was a story going around about it being a Harrell car originally before it was purchased sans engine and trans and converted to full time track duty. Dunno if that's bs or not, but I'm pretty sure the Kimball's were involved in two different Camaros, the Grumpy car and that one.

That's NOT a Grumpy Car,,, its a "Customer" ...of JENKINS COMPETITION. . ...A Modified Production Car that competed in through mid 1970's.
Notice the "Wrinkle Wall GY's.
Not out yet for consumption in '67.

Lots of Early SS & Pro Stocks from '67 & '68 went into M/P As most WERE NOT Competitive in 69-70 SS or Pro Stock......M/P Wars were Wicked with 12,000 RPM 287, 292 & 301 SBC's. on Roller cams of 600 lifts. .very exotic buzz bombs.

And Tons of BB's running 470-488 inches...

Grump's 67 was restored by the Kimball Bros. in the 67 race trim and was featured at Carlisle a few years back.

i do not know the date on the photo. i was just going by the 'record holder' lettering on the front fender and the stickers. no Camaro script on either car.

Diggin' the pics!
Above w/ Joe Tryson and the '67 car in 1968, is the Grump car in the background maybe the '68 car also if so, the '67 & '68 cars in the same pic?
Is it know if da Grump's '68 was originally an RS or not also what of the Dogfight car's TT?
