Bill Jenkins! Dave 67 Nova Boy </div></div> Yes! But there's more.... K </div></div> Bill Jenkins and a lot of GM suits? </div></div> Exactly. It might not be obvious but that picture was taken on the short straight at the GM Desert Proving Ground. I'm not exactly sure what is going on there but Jenkins is putting the hurt on a (presumably stock) '68 Corvette under the watchful eye of a bunch of GM suits. The way I came to get that picture: I worked at the DPG for about 4 years, back in the early 90's. One day on my way in I happened to cut through the Administration building and noticed a nice photo montage of historic/vintage pictures. That one caught my eye because I thought that Camaro looked awfully familiar! I asked the lady in the photo lab if I could get a copy and she very graciously found the negative and made two new prints for me. I've kept them in my files since then. I have a friend who worked as the GM engineer on the Penske/Donahue Sunoco Camaro. I asked him if perhaps he knew what the occasion was but he was not able to shed any additional light on the subject. K

Heres a few more that I scanned in tonight.
Faking Z's even when you had a L34 SS.. These photos are from the early 80's. My father traded in my brothers 65 Mustang in a little town of Sparta, TN and then once my brother graduated high school in '84 he had the car restored. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
