Not sure if it matters, but I talked to my father today and in regards to the pinstripe, it was factory. Was not added. Came from the dealer with the stripe painted on.

So did the factory paint it on & ship it to the dealership,or did the dealership do it once they took delivery from the factory?

..and how much extra cost was it?

I've been around cars my whole life along with working in the new and used car industry for decades......

Dealer painted on pinstripes was and is still quite common.Most any dealer would pinstripe, cut in & paint white walls. Redlines, Bluelines, Goldlines.
Dealer dress up is as old as the first ever car sold.

Just a thought......for conversation.

60's camaro's came with factory painted pin stripes so why would nova be any different.

Looks like it was indeed factory applied & included when RPO ZJ-2 custom exterior was ordered.
Known as Body-side paint stripe,available in black or white.
I've honestly never noticed it before.

Never said a Nova didn't have factory stripes

I gave an alternative insight as why IT COULD HAVE a painted on pinstripe.....
