It is my understanding that the vast majority of these later 6223 cranks were not nitrided or cross drilled, while the early ones mostly were.

I have taken apart many original 427 engines over the years and most had the 6223 crank not the 7115.

I have several 427s here at the shop and all have 6223 Cranks.
