Not to take anything away from the U.S. soldiers who fought & won & lived,& the ones who fought & won & lost their lives there,but that iconic flag raising photo was actually staged hours later after the initial raising.

Rick...thanks for adding that to the thread. It is an important part of the story and one that many folks are not aware of.
