Default Re: Yenko Nova Shifter question?

A friend of mine is a retired mechanic from Ed Stinn's and told me a story about two brothers that ordered LS6 Chevelles in 70 from the dealership. The one brother ordered a 4 speed and the other an automatic. The 4 speed car had the rock crusher in it and the guy brought it back to the dealership several times insisting there was something wrong with the trans due to the whining of the gears.

My friend said that the dealership tried to explain to the guy that was how those trannys were but he refused to listen. He said the dealership ended up replacing the trans with an M21 instead just to satisfy the guy. He said the M22 out of the Chevelle sat on a bench in the dealership for several years until another mechanic took it for a project car he was building. He said there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with that trans...
