I love them first gen birds... under priced and underated I think !!
Ive had a bunch of old firebirds over the years ...unfortunately, mostly cars that I parted out including a Ram Air 69 coupe...a driving 69 vert..hugger orange, white gut and white top..an all original muncie 4 speed car too...I still have the plastic protecto-plate for that car !! Hated to part it out, but it was a NE car that spent a lot of time near the beach...it looked like a spaghetti strainer underneath!!..also had a bunch of others I drove including a 67 coupe that had an L-88 4 speed...what a monster !! I definitly like the 69's way better than the 67-8's...never liked that full bumper look.. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/ ![]() |

Some are underpriced, but collectors began scooping these up around 10 years ago, and prices have climbed. Nicely restored 1969 Firebird 400 hardtops are now in the $35K+ range, ragtops in the $40K-$90K range. Real Ram Air cars rarely change hands. 1969 Trans Am's fetch around $80K, with RAIV versions $100K+.
1969 Firebird RAIV convertibles are extremely rare, and the only one sold in recent years went for $286,000. More info on these rare cars are here: http://www.musclecarfilms.com/1969Po...vertibles.html I'm a bit of a fan of the 1969's myself.
