The Malibu looks like it was a 4 door sedan. The '61 is pretty cool.
Chad

Oops... someone already said it was a more door.

This car went on to run ovals and was destroyed.

Notice anything funny about those inner wheel wells?

Bill supplied the aluminum inner fenders. '62s didn't have aluminum bumpers. Joe Gardner's car had a steel front otherwise. Had to be for A/S.

Verne

BTW: The '63 Z-11 aluminum bumpers were still chromed.

Verne
, that Red 62 Bubble top is prettier than most.. the tire/wheel combo, the collectors and of course the lettering !
that would be awesome to see again as a 100% accurate Tribute .

Yes, I agree. Joe was very careful about the car's appearance. In fact, those chrome wheels were bought JUST before the photo shoot for that purpose. The gold on top of the fenders was actually metalflake but hard to tell from any photos. My very good (deceased) friend Ronnie Evans was going to build a tribute but all his time went into his own race car. Joe and his wife are still doing well in AZ.
