Looks more like a 4 Dr Sedan, 300 emblem ......wow, even then 4 door stock cars were made to look like racing coupes. ..... NASCAR history ? as a kid, pre-teen I had to walk over and ON Dad's discarded Corvette Fuel injection units, air cleaners , even the aluminum louvered air cleaners.....to walk through the basement not to mention the garage.....geez.. Once we took one of Dad's hoods,, a '58 Corvette louvered hood, split the skin off the frame and Made Us A 'Sled' for the driveway winters and hillside !!! The louvers, I think slowed us down as the '55 Chevy Hoods 'were faster' yet hurt like hell when they ran us over......Duh..

The Malibu looks like it was a 4 door sedan. The '61 is pretty cool. Chad Oops... someone already said it was a more door. |

Bill supplied the aluminum inner fenders. '62s didn't have aluminum bumpers. Joe Gardner's car had a steel front otherwise. Had to be for A/S.
Verne BTW: The '63 Z-11 aluminum bumpers were still chromed. |

Verne
, that Red 62 Bubble top is prettier than most.. the tire/wheel combo, the collectors and of course the lettering ! that would be awesome to see again as a 100% accurate Tribute .

Joe was very careful about the car's appearance. In fact, those chrome wheels were bought JUST before the photo shoot for that purpose. The gold on top of the fenders was actually metalflake but hard to tell from any photos. My very good (deceased) friend Ronnie Evans was going to build a tribute but all his time went into his own race car. Joe and his wife are still doing well in AZ.
