And yes, the 6223 was used in all the Nova 396 and 402 applications since the low horse L-35 396 was never available in the Nova.

&quot;tufftrided&quot; = hardened = a grayish tint that may be dark, almost black, after years of running, from what I have observed. I have issue with Colvin's, if 69 is latest year of usage stated, as this crank was used in 1970 L78's as well. Don't forget another tell tale of an L78 crank (6223) opposed to the 350hp crank and early low horse 325hp and 366 truck engine is that the tufftrided is also cross-drilled through the main journals.
