In Sept 1984 the car was purchased by Leroy Funk and Titled by him in Sept 1988. Here is a link to his burial plot and Obit.
His obit reads like he was a pretty good car guy.

My understanding is all Colorado DMV records are still there but you have to hire someone or go to the courthouse to look at the files.
