Default Re: 69 Camaro LH tail light gasket

Any help appreciated.

I have ranted against reproduction parts multiple times. This may not seem like much, but beware that the repop tail light gaskets can actually cause some damage. Fortunately, I figured mine out before it got bad. Problems are 3 fold:
1. The gaskets are too thin, making the tail light housing stick out too far after all the nuts are snug,
2. They are not dense enough exacerbating problem one,
3. They are incredibly porous, just like a sponge, meaning they will retain a lot of moisture, and in my case some compound that got in the crevice during polishing.

As you know that compound can actually attack paint if left on.
