Here's a few more, mostly of local cars from my neighborhood around 1980ish.

70 1/2 Z-28, pearl turned it from red & black to pink & purple-

AND me and the head cheerleader at a Valentines Dance in 8th grade.
Yes that is a multi denim suit. Saved for last for comic relief-

Here's a photo of my best high school buddy's car in '68. It's a real L-78 SS. Originally it had a black vinyl roof but it was removed. Pure coincidence that the plate read RUR-425. How cool! He joined the Navy after graduation and drove it to Long Beach, CA, then sold it. I can only imagine driving that thing across the country with 4.11s.

I went from Minneapolis to Indianapolis in 1983 for Super Chevy Sunday in my 68 SS427 Impala and let me tell you, it was NO picnic. If I recall correctly it was running about 3500 RPM at about 55 mph. Triple black car, 4.11's and no air while 101 degrees out. Yuck!

Naval Station LB was my 1st duty station too (closed in the 90s). I had a view of the Mighty Mo, USS Missouri, out of the window of my vintage WWII Quonset hut!

Sam,
He was assigned to the Kitty Hawk and went West. I joined after college and was assigned to the Forrestal and went East. Sister ships and sister buddies but I had it easier (no war zone in the Med.)

Yep. Also notice the milk box at the bottom of the steps. We still had delivery then. Better times. And they didn't salt the roads. You just just had to learn how to drive when it snowed. Imagine that!
