The clutch sight/feelers gauge hole is on the late 60's - early 70's style bell. (now outlawed by SEMA & NHRA AS ARE THE 2 PC BOLT ON Clutch access doors on the much older units) Two different block saver plates were used for the same style bell as well.... the earliest is louvered for ventilation later is the 3 hole design as in Sam's pics. The 3 hole is still made today but the plates are totally different. Early ones had square nuts tack welded on, new ones have hex nuts & the flange & ears on the older plates are much larger than the newer ones.
Sam, I finally found an old set of STAHL SB 1 5/8 tubes. They came from an F/S 350-J/S 302 69 Z/28. I also have a set of 1969 Appliance 1 3/4 with long tubes/collectors & welded on square flanges. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
