There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site...you might want to reach out to some of them for their opinion (in private) about the car. It sounds like you know the car but I would hate to see you get taken. Before you drop serious money, take some good photos of the trim tag, vin #, motor, rear and transmission stamps, body panels and paperwork and get a couple honest opinions. Just my 2 cents.
