There is a guy that lives by me and said that he was a salesman at jerrys and that was one of the cars that he started up every once in a while to keep the battery charged and just to hear it run.

That's not a POP imprint; looks like something from the trucking company. I thought the Gibb files contained the check-in sheet that would have the imprint.
The bud that had the ZL1 met with Gibb in the '80s. They were both former Chevy dealers and hit it off. Gibb said he had tried to order the cars heater delete but by '69 heater/defroster was federally mandated for North America. The ZL1s were an enormous burden for him, not just financially. They didn't sell, took up space. There were theft problems so they put up a fence. They regularly moved them into the building at the end of the day. There's a great article about the dealership in the August 2011 MCR.

Thanks William,
When Bill P. contacted me, at first, over the phone, he said he thought he had my protecto-plate imprint. Apparently not, since it was not part of the papers that I recieved ?? Would be neat to see though !! I'll look for that article..sounds cool. Thanks again. |

Complete Auto Transport provided the carbon copy forms for Chevrolet to complete for each unit as part of the Bill of Lading package.
The heavy black type is all Chevrolet Norwood Data field information. The Embossing with the driver's name and number is Complete auto transport and was stamped when the driver was assigned, the remaining hand written information is Complete Auto Transport also. |
