The Chevelle was actually my mom's car; dad ordered it so mom would have something to drive. But - he ordered it as a Police car so it would come with some extra goodies. 454, TH400, 3.42 posi, 8" Corvette rally wheels with Goodyear blue dot tires. Mom drove it four years and I got it when she was done with it.
I have been racing this same car for 35 years now. First pass (ever) was a 15.10 and it was going 14.90's by the end of the day. Over the course of three decades it's had about 7 different powerplants, the latest is a 555 cu in bow tie pro stock big block that is just shy of 1000 hp naturally aspirated. Best ET is 9.85 at 136 mph, but the car is legal to 10 flat. It wants to go 10.20's to 10.30's on any given Sunday. It's been run at a couple dozen facilities across the US, as far south as Florida and as far west as California. I followed the NMCA/NSCA series for nearly 15 years resulting in top ten finishes ever year, including two third place series finishes and two series Championship runner up placements. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

This dumb little red pickup is probably the most popular vehicle I own, and is the only "legitimate" original owner vehicle I can claim.
I ordered this truck in 1986 when my company car was taken away. I followed it down the assembly line as it was being built and drove it off the end of the line myself. I drove it for four years, mostly in Arizona, and sold it to my father-in-law when I regained the GM company vehicle again. He drove it for 18 years, in Arizona and Montana, until his passing in 2008. The family asked if I wanted it back and I said yes, which makes me the original - and third - owner of this truck. Mechanically it was in good shape when I got it back but cosmetically he beat the crap out of it. I took the summer of 2009 and "restored it" - in the driveway - from May to September. It is basically once again my daily driver, although I shield it from the elements when I can. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [ ![]() ![]()
