Thanks everyone for your reply's/comment's His intention is to keep &/or put the car back to original as possible,so didn't want to put the mat in if it wasn't supposed be there. He had been told before that it should have had the hood insulation with ZL2

Probably hard to return it to original if it's been restored, right?

Guess what I meant was to have only the equipment it was built with originally(not add parts it wasn't built with)& to make sure it does have everything that it is suppossed to (hood insulation).

----I think what guys here are saying is that a trunkmat isnt permanent. It can be pulled out in a matter of seconds for a show or whatever. A trunkmat does help keep the trunk floor in nice condition and saves it from scratches, which would devalue a nice resto or just plain look nasty!......Bill S

Let me try to clarify my original post, which focused on trunk mat. The trunk mat was part of the Z87 custom interior option. With this option you also got sound deadening placed on the forward part of the trunk pan area.

Regarding hood insulation it was included on all ZL2 and SS hoods. If you have a flat hood, insulation was only available with the Z87 option.

Hopefully I've answered your question.
