I had a similar experience with my 69 Nova Ken. Couldn't get the brake lights to work. I checked out all the wiring from back to front..... Turned out to be the brand new Chinese turn signal switch....lesson learned!

BTW: Haven't had much comp time the past 6 months. I just spent an hour reading thru your entire thread. Great project. It's good to know I'm not the only nut to pull a perfectly good car apart, and "have your way" with it....
