Have been looking for the car for years with no luck!! I even contacted the NCRS pittsburgh chapter figuring I may get some leads. My uncle lived near Clymer, PA when he sold it to a guy who lived near Cookport Pa. From there the car went to Dixsonville, PA. The guy in Dixonsville was approched by a guy with a then brand new 72 vega who traded it for the 10 year old corvette. I heard from there it went to Saltsburg and now?????????

My 69 Camaro Indy Pace Car is from Carl Ramsey Chevrolet, Brownsville, PA. I still have the dealer emblem. It was a "rare" car in that it is a column shift, powerglide, 10-bolt car. Why someone would equip an Indy Pace Car with all the goodies, but not go for the 3-speed or a console is amazing to me. However, they did spring for the shoulder belts, which was pretty expensive in comparison to the other options.

The car was a dealer trade from Anthony Chevrolet in Fairmont WV. The customer (the lady I bought the car from) wanted an automatic and Anthony Chev had only a 4-speed. Carl Ramsey had a pace car with automatic, so they traded it out.

Just thought you would want my Carl Ramsey Chevrolet story.

Hi Ramsey fans,,,,
To add some Fuel ie ,,,,
My Father in-law was an avid customer & personal friend of Mr. Ramsey for many years.
Ramsey at that time was a known Corvette selling Chevy store in as much as Mr. Ramsey was awarded a "sales performance" Gruen Corvette watch in the early 60's......
I now am the Caretaker for this watch given to me & my wife from her father, my Father in law.
Mr Thomas Lynn was the Methodist pastor in Brownsville and in 1968 Mr Ramsey presented it to Mr. Lynn for Years of Friendship.
The watch itself is impressive as its a Gold 17 jewel Gruen with the Chevrolet Corvette Script as the face.(as seen on V8 decks and front headers 55-62) . I also have a signed statement of provenance from Mr. Lynn when he gifted it to us on a Father's Day a few years ago. Thankfully , he is still with us.

I would be Interested in finding a New Care Taker for this Special Corvette piece of History.....
Tom.
I can ask my Dad of Ramsey corvettes ..as he owned dozens.. raced, wrenched and tuned many Hot Local cars , He was from Homestead/Munhall in the early 60's moving to West Mifflin in 1964.
Yes... we know very well, the ZO6 Tanker from Homestead, road raced against Don Yenko.
