Default Re: What COPOs were meant to do...

Doug sent that picture to my phone yesterday, (a first for me, by the way), so I got the hint.
WOW!
Just to set the record straight, Bob McDormand bought this car back in 1996. It was in the parking lot on a cool Friday night in September during Bob's annual Corvette and Charity car show. I was talking with the guy who owned the car when Bob pulled up in his '57 Chevy golf cart, and without ever leaving his seat, negotiated a price and bought it on the spot.
It sat in one of his pole barns, neglected but still shining until Doug bought it.
What amazes me is that I never saw Doug get behind the wheel of any of his cars before last year. Dave McGaffee has always been the guy with the hot shoe and the golden wrench. Three years ago, when Doug rented the track and invited me to bring my car out, Dave was behind the wheel of that green beauty, and when I offered my keys to Doug for a pass behind the wheel of my car, thinking that he could handle the M40, he declined.
(He did ride shotgun with me for a pass, 13.92 et and no more passengers, thank you very much.)
All I can say is WOW! Doug, you put the hurt on that thing. That is a whole lot of bite from those sticky Mickey's.
