Is there any of the original cad plating left on the outside of the cap?

I have had many of these as NOS and Used and have only seen the natural stainless steel finish on the outside of the cap. </div></div> Hmmm, that's unusual, as all the original "big ear" RC15 caps I've seen were plated, not stainless. |

It's stamped steel, not stainless. The pitting in it is from rust I would expect. Kinda kills the patina, huh?
