Well mine is a L48 4 speed manual trans. I don't know how much longer the threads were on mine, but I have not done anything to it but disconnect and reconnect after carb swaps or rebuilds.

While I can say it is not hard angle bent I can say it has a very slight natural bow to it closer to the linkage of the pedal assembly then to the carb linkage.
