Very interesting car, would like an opinion as it relates to this 2nd gen thread. Back in 2000 I picked up a 1971 Camaro SS, had been in storage since the late eighties and purchased it for $5500, came our of PA. The guy I bought it from said he had some papers for it, and I told him to put them in the glove and I would get them when the car got delivered. What got delivered was a car in similar condition to the one in this thread, an honest 75k low option SS, four speed, no console, no tach, no air...very original car. the body was in very similar condition so I put on two fenders from goodmark and full quarters. While patches would have worked, the body guy said this would be quicker and I would get a straighter outcome....he was right. The doors, rockers and floors were very clean, a product of the rusty jones treatment at the dealer The car was painted and cleared, came out pretty nice, I have a set of Z28 wheels on it, had the driver seat recovered and put a carpet in it....probably would have been fine but the body guy was not keen on covering things so easier to put a new carpet in it. As far as paperwork, I got the original handwritten dealer order form, broadcast sheet, protectoplate and some misc other paperwork. I replaced all the chrome, trim, lights,, etc....did valve guides to fix a little blow by and have done all of the mechanicals, everything.....springs, shocks,, brakes, lines, bushing, bearings.....everything...
so after owning this for ten year or so, I may want to move it along and what caught my eye was the money on this one and what I may try to get for mine...matching numbers legit SS, cottonwood green ext, black interior (I know that is not most peoples favor ![]() ite color). Any thoughts on what may be a reasonable price for this....thanks, I appreciate everyones opinion |
