Tom....No amount of money would be enough!! I finished the last of the undercoating last night, removing it from the front wheel wells. I'M DONE!!!

Any type of paint remover will damage the paint under the undercoating, including the Peal Away 7. It will take it down to bare steel. I used a propane torch and a 2" scraper, and it was pretty quick, but it also damaged the original black paint. Your best bet is a heat gun and a plastic scraper, and I bet you will still have scratches.

The pressure washer with really hot water (routed from my washing machine) worked great on the Firebird. No scratches either, since nothing other than the water touched the surface.

When I was young (and didn't know better) I used a propane touch to remove the factory sound deadener from the front wheel wells of my '62. Some of it started on fire and I breathed the fumes. The next morning I woke up with the entire right side of my body paralyzed. It wore off (lucky me).
