Best of luck in your search. I was looking for my dads old Z/28 and with a stroke of luck and help of a member on this site I found the car and brought it back home. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Check with the North Carolina DMV. They were most helpful when I was researching the history of my 68Z. I received the complete history of my car when it 'lived' in NC. The only stipulation is that you cannot contact any of the former owners due to the privacy act. Good luck with your quest.

Try your insurance company. They may have some old records that would list the VIN. Good Luck.

It had r/s on the car but from what I was told it was a r/s ss because of the hood 12 bolt rear end and it had disk brakes on the front end the car was a factory 396 car!!!

Here's another idea, it worked for me. I was searching for a specific 69 Nova so I posted an ad on Craigslist with some of the old magazine pictures. I received about half a dozen calls and was even given the contact info on the original builder. I ended up finding the car and it is still as built, straight axle and all. I haven't been able to convince the current owner to sell yet but at least I found it.

I would start posting ads in all surrounding cities and renew the ads every week to move it back to the top of the postings. There has to be someone who knows where it went.
