----While at Classic Motors back in the late 70s I tracked down a bunch of NOS Goodyear Goldline tires. I kept getting closer until I found that they had been sold to a trailer manufacturer 6 months prior. To add insult to the pain, the trailer company turned them around so they were black side out and used every one of them......Bill S

----Ron,,,Terry never made or had those tires made. Those tires were a project that my boss Richard Buxbaum and a friend in North Carolina (an X-Goodyear employee) put together. My pal (who many of you know, Stretch) put the very first set on his 396/425 65 Vette.
----We took the first shipment at Classic Motors. The check for the bulk of the tires (5000 total is what my memory tells me, could be wrong) was sizeable and Richard decided to lay off a bunch on Terry as he had been pestering Richard to become involved. I wasnt privy to what was going on at T.Michaelis and dont want to disparage anybodys reputation but 2500 tires went away and were never paid for. So basicly every 7.75 Goodyear tire with a gold or red stripe that was sold was pretty much pure profit for those Ohio boys for a long time. Oh,,,The good old days!!!......Bill S

Dad's 67 had a set of those - and he sold his spare set 5-6 years ago at the Jacob's swap meet after he sold the car - they still brought pretty good money.

The summer I worked for Richard (1986?) I remember going over to a storage unit off of Cass Avenue north of 63rd Street to pick something up and being in awe when the door opened and it was chuck full of the vintage Goodyears and other types of original vintage tires. Not sure if they were repros or originals back then but it was neat to see.

Sorry for the hijack Brent!

Jake

Thanks Bill, I have a set up in the rafters, guess I should dig them out to check there condition. I know at one time they were good for 5 points for NCRS judging. Ron....
