2L designation means 4 speed on every gm tag. [/ QUOTE ] yes, that is true. I dont know where that "B3" comes from in the earlier post. |

In my paperwork, Buick's code for a 4-speed is B3. That's the code by the box where you check on the order form.

Now what's this "2L" code that supposedly appears on dataplates? Even '69 GTOs have this? |

The 2L code only applies until 1967 as far as I know. Are there any hidden vins on a 65 to at least tell if the VIN is original to the car?

Things were weird at the inspection today. After verifying the VIN did not match the motor, the sad owner pulled out a warranty book with yet ANOTHER VIN number on the protect -0- plate !!!

but not from this car. He says he paid 18,000 five years ago. That’s the first bad investment in a muscle car I’ve seen in twenty years. Maybe its insured well and he can leave it out somewhere. ![]() Oh, and when was the last time you got to stab a 4000lb dual quad 4spd. ![]() I recommend doing it often if you can. !! ![]() thanks everyone for your help. low ball offers for a nice driver? |
