Buick values can be hard to understand. That black convert was clearly a good value considering it cost more to restore it than the asking price. The significant jump in price to take that same car to over 100 for a Stage 1, automatic convert depends on a variety of factors. Beyond the huge difference in production numbers between a standard 455 & a Stage 1, original drivetrain, good original color combo, buckets/console or bench column shift are the most important. Again because of the low production numbers, and consequently a low number of cars surviving, a Stage 1, original drivetrain, good color convert with a 4 speed will usually command around twice what a similar automatic will. As with all collector muscle cars, it's all about supply & demand. Buick muscle cars have often been late to recover from the price drops like we've seen since 2007/2008. Personaly, I have seen this as an opportunity to acquire some of the rare Stage 1 cars, so I'm not an unbiased observer to this situation. IMHO, they are still a great value,and hopefully they will be going up as the market has already started to do, but, if they don't, I still love them. The performance is truly surprising, the ride is incredible, and the overall quality is what really sets them apart from the other GM A bodies. Again, this is just my opinion.

Good reason for that . 4 heavy body mounts at the firewall , not two flimsy ones like the other GM intermediates. I like differnent elements about them all , but the slogan when better cars are built Buick will build them isn't fiction . As a 29 year Buick owner I always liked the uniqueness and quality .
