It is sad. The're even sellng his pants!
I have some of both of my grandfathers' tools. I use the big set of wood clamps from my dad's dad regularly and I have this bizarre articulating pliers with a wire cutter on the side, from my Mom's dad. It has an 1896 patent date on it. It might even be his father's pliers, since he was born in 1898. Those will get passed down to my kids. |

I think that the auctions for Grump's stuff will be hotly contested and certainly the most important pieces will end up in good homes.
What I find interesting is that they decided to split up the trophy collection. I was told several times by Bill's guys that the plan was for them to be sold as a single lot to keep them together. I guess Dana figured they'd probably maximize proceeds for the family by allowing more people to compete for individual trophies than only the big boys compete for the collection. Should also be an interesting dynamic given Dana owns one of Grump's cars himself.

Actually glad to see the trophy collection being offered piece meal.. better that many people can enjoy them other than just the one person who would have ended up with the entire collection. |

He was a local hero to me growing up .I was glad to have had the chance to meet him tour his shop and buy one of his last pit scooter's .Yes i still use the scooter .I hope the box goes to a good home and the new owner uses them and enjoys them also. ![]()

I would need a rollback to move mine, and that's empty. The only way I can inventory is to take new pictures every year. This is one wrench drawer.... ![]()
