I have a really nice set of 8 TRW forged L2394N .030 pistons and rings that just came out of my 1972 455 HO. These are high compression 1/2" dome pistons that give approximately 10-1/4 to 1 compression ration with the 111 cc 7F6 heads. (Too high for my street driving habits). A compression test on each cylinder averaged 225 PSI.
Here is the factory info: L2394NF .030 TRW pistons for Pontiac 455 with .476 dome, aluminum forged for high compression. These pistons are generally used for racing applications, and may require machining for proper fit and clearance of smaller chamber heads. Unmachined Cylinder Head Compression Ratios with L23894N: 89cc = 12.54:1 96cc = 11.83:1 111cc = 10.25:1 114cc = 9.98:1 The pistons have approximately 5,000 miles on them and the car had a ton of power in this configuration. I just didn't like its appetite for race fuel. I pulled the engine in order to fix the leaky rear main seal and to swap to stock pistons. So I have no use for them other than as 8 separate Christmas gifts for friends and family. And I already gave them pistons last year for Christmas. So their loss is your gain.
