Amen! On the way home today...a middle aged lady 45-55 years old...couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone on a surface street where she was traveling 60+ mph...In a Suburban! What a tool!

Bill, I hope everything with your friend turns out okay. It looks like someone was watching over him!

If you have been driving as long as a few of the Geezers here, I think one thing we all would agree on about driving today is this. "Defensive driving" has a whole different meaning now.

I agree, the roads of today are much more alarming and just down right scary .....one must constantly be looking in every direction and at every blind spot, etc.

Hope your friend fully recovers.

Best wishes for your friend. As a fellow 55 Chev owner, that photo just sickens me.
Hopefully he has a full recovery!

scary scenario ...

some of the "evidence" we used to take for granted, ie skid marks, don't appear anymore with ABS ...

Update.....still don't have absolute confirmation, but evidently my friend Ted was not severely injured in this accident, because he forwarded these additional pictures to our mutual friend.

Here's the car before accident...

Here's the car ablaze

Here's one more post-fire picture....

Oh man, that is just painful, seriously painful. What a shame.

Do they know why the other driver didn't stop?
