Default GM 3905525 Metering Valve Disassembly and Rebuild

I've just completed disassembly and rebuild articles for the GM 3905525 metering valve made by Bendix for 1967 - 1969 GM vehicles. I've also got a new seal kit available that I'll post in the classifieds. Here's the disassembly article:

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/gm-3905525-autopsy

The rebuild article:

I don't yet have a reproduction of the Bendix rubber dust cap. I'm exploring my options to see if it can be done economically.

Thanks, perfect timing. I'm just installing a rebuilt power brake booster and master cylinder and the brake lines on my car. Ordered 1 set.

Scott,
What a great tutorial. What about the '70 style that does not have the large nut on the end ?
I know Steve Gregori told me he rebuilds them and has the unit phosphate plated while apart.
Thanks,
DL

I wish I knew how Steve is rebuilding those 1970 1233464 valves because I can't see any way to get them open! If there's a way to open it that doesn't require cutting I can probably come up with the parts.

Great info! Do you offer the parts/o-rings for the other versions of the combination valve? This is the one from my 72 Firebird. There is also a similar cast iron bodied one that does not have the "L" shape.

I do. I currently have two kits (proportioning and pressure differential) available for the Kelsey-Hayes valve you have pictured. Here's the disassembly article:

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/19...-valve-autopsy

I'm still working on the kit for the metering valve and that's what's holding up a rebuild article. If you can't wait assembly is just the reverse of disassembly. These are the seal kits:

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/kh-iron-combo-kit-1

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/kh-iron-combo-kit-3

I hope to have a kit for the metering valve "soon".
