Default Re: value of 70 LS6 blocks

Getting a bill of sale to say the seller will stand behind their condition would be very important too,if he'll do that.

Yes that's a good price,as condition is always important,as much as what the blocks originally came out of,is more what I meant.
Meaning if he's buying them for himself to modify & install in a donor vehicle, then what they came out of isn't as important as it would be to others.
If he's buying them thinking they're LS-6 Chevelle blocks and to try to reunite them with those exact vehicles down the road, but it turns out they're 1971 LS-5 Impala coded,is more what I was replying to.
Or it could go the other way,and turns out they're casted for two COPO cars, then those prices stated are a no brainer.
He hasn't said if the seller will accept $500-1K,or if he's just a buyer offering that?

4 bolt blocks have obvious provisions above the oil filter mounting base for an external oil cooler,so look into that also.

Overall, too many people have bought so many things in the past w/o doing basic research, only to come crying back to the sellers or websites, calling out the sellers and saying this isn't what you said it was.
I just don't want to see that happen here.

wow, thanks for the advice and education! I think I now know what makes sense to offer, based on what I will see. I just know they will sit under that bench forever unless I ask for them to see daylight.

this guy used to race cars centered around the chicago area. Odds are if there are vins, they are from chicago area cars. but you never know. this guy used to race with hydrazine, so maybe I should check those blocks for cracks....now that i think about it...I guess that stuff was rocket fuel and probably could really stress out an engine.
