I think that the "pie crust style" slick gets carried over too long, the term cheater slick was active after 1966 but a current or active racer back then not be running that type tire (pie crust). This is a NON DOT rated 1967 tire









Here is a pic of a 68 Nova true find (previous story from here years ago) with the same tire



M&H still offers a repo of the original slick they are just under 200 ea
