I can attest to Ford Corp being horrible to deal with, and offering NO customer support.
My 2008 Navigator with 66k miles is giving up the transmission right now and Ford Corp has been telling me to pound salt even though they've been aware of the tranny problems for 20k miles, bastages. This may indeed be the LAST Ford I buy if they stick me with this problem... You might have the E4OD transmission and yes Ford does know about it but Fords engineering dept see no problem I ran a very large Fleet for an express company and had a few E350 super duty trucks that had the E4OD tranny . they went out every 6 months and Ford told me it was driver abuse well on one truck after the 16th tranny in 19 months I took maters in my own hands This is what I found there is a check valve on the out going tranny coolant line that opens up at the temperature the engineers has set What I did was to remove the check valve and tossed it so the fluid runs all the time the next thing I did was to stuff the biggest tranny cooler I could find Now get this Fords engineering dept told me that will not work because the tranny will run to cold My answer to them was yea your way really works good any way long story short that truck E4OD after 150,000 miles On THAT trans was still working great there is so many more problems I had with them but the bottom line is just like the 302 oil pressure problems they just stick there heads in the sand and just refuse to find a fix In the 18 years I had so many fights with Ford engineering that I always ended up finding the problem and fix it my self THATS WHY I HATE FORDS |
