Carter was another well know brand used in 1969.

Also just noticed the bracket in my earlier NOS red pump and the nos blue one on ebay PXTX posted is silver plated while the later pumps- mid 70's had a gold cadmium plated bracket. Cool little differences.

Here is the replacement pump I got from Holley, the blue one. It was rated at 14 pounds pressure and required the regulator. The earlier (very much new) red one let me down at an IHRA points meet when it would only pump when it was cool. My original one was red, but now 40 years later I'm shocked to find that my Holley rep would have lied to me about the color change thing (sneaky old salesmen anyway). At this late date I can't recall if the red one had the regulator or not. Anyway, this pump is what I used from around 1972 on, on many of my drag race stocker and not so stock racers. The bracket appears to be of the silver variety underneath the layer of "patina".

Here is a picture of the rubber in a new style Holley pump. Would anyone care to remove the bottom plate on one of the old ones and see if it's the same? If so, I could get a nos pump and buy the rebuild kit for the rubber piece.

Red one was non adjustable and never came with a regulator. It really was just a electric version of a stock OEM mechanical pump with some extra gph boost.

Wow, another one painted all blue....really an early one.

Since I was working part time at a local friendly speed shop, I got it warrantied directly by the Holley rep. I'd never compared paint jobs or bracket colors before and was suprised when I pulled if off a basement shelf and saw that it had been all blue originally and had the silver mounting bracket. No, I'm really not a packrat or anything.....

This is the regulator that came with the first Holley fuel pump I ever bought. A red one that I purchased and raced with in the '70s.

So, I wasn't imagining that I had a red pump with a red regulator after all.

No you weren't imagining it. I knew that I had one somewhere when I started reading this thread. It just took me this long to find it.
