I am no expert, or mechanic for that matter but, I don't see why anyone would have to remove the emergency brake in order to fit the M22 in the car. As far as I know the M22 is the same size as any other Muncie transmission which the Corvette may have come with; in fact some Corvettes had M22's from the factory and retained the emergency brake.

Also I don't think a '75 Corvette is worh $30k regardless of whether or not it has an LS6 in it or not. Of course the car's value is something that can only be determined by the purchaser; as long as you're happy with it who gives a rat's ass what I, or anyone else, says it's worth?

I hope the car turns out to be something special. Post some photos so we can see what you bought.

There is a machined flat pad on the block behind the water pump as you look down at the motor. It should be stamped with a code there and that will tell you if it is a crate LS6 or LS7. Do you have any paperwork that came with the car that will give you a clue to the history?
