Make sure you clean the crap out of that rubber seal, use toluene if you have it , or synthetic enamel reducer is good to, lacquer thinner is OK too.
FYI, my choice of weather strip glue is Permatex, have used both and the 3m flashes over real fast. But both are good products. Permatex weather strip addhesive
