Duct tape a piece of clear plastic (24"x24&quotin a few spots and leave for 48 hrs to see if any moisture problems. If so let me know (Vapor Transmission)otherwise mechanically prep via shot blasting or diamond grinding.

Two pigmented coats with a back rolled texture would be the most cost effective system, however you dont have allot of impact resistance.

Where in Illinois and how are you going to use the floor. Is it new or do you have to worry about oil or fatty acids in the concrete?

I hired a company called Texas Tuff Tops to professionally seal my floor. The floor is about 500 square feet and they stripped some epoxy crud I put on years ago and spread a great permanent top on the floor. This was two years ago and it still looks wonderful. Brake fluid left a slight yellow color where is sat for a few weeks, but having this floor done was the best thing I’ve ever done. The cost was $1,500 and well worth it.

the floor is 25 days old and 50 x 30 so its pretty big. I just settled on the epoxy floor paint lowes sells. Its cheaper than going vendor direct. I dont like the flec chips you can add to epoxy paints, so I chose to go with the taupe color (gray-tan) that I think looks best (no chips).

I am concerned on moisture release still going on through the floor. There were 5 cement trucks used for footings and walls, and 1 for the 6 inch thick floor. I may test some plastic cover to see if its still releasing a lot of moisture.

I will keep looking for advice here (thanks so far) before I start.

Saturday should be fun
