CBT code for 1970 means it came from a Nova...letter E denotes Eaton Positraction..the number 2 after the G stands for the second shift production. This most likely came from an SS car.

I will defer to the Camaro gurus on that [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif[/img]...I also remember reading that late 69 Camaros had the 3 letter engine code as well [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif[/img] I'm sure someone will confirm the facts.

Yup on the good possibility that it could be a late 69 Camaro axle.
http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#axle "Most late 69 (after 08A) axles (10 or 12 bolt) were stamped using the 1970-style code, e.g. CBT instead of just BT." Only the late 396 blocks got the 3 letter engine code.
