i was wondering if anyone has info on a 69 Yenko Camaro that my brother's brother in-law used to own. his name is denny reed and he bought the car new from v.v. cooke chevolet in louisville,ky back in 1969. it was lemans blue with a black vinyl top. had the 4 wheel disc brake option and a 4 speed. i think it also had aluminum heads. he traded it in back around 73 or 74 on a vega station wagon (of all things!). i love to know if this car is still alive and well. thanks

..... Do you have a vin number from the car? ( maybe from old license registration or insurance company records? Do you recall all the options it had? .... Are you sure about the 4 wheel disc brakes? Those were ususally on the trans am 302 Z/28 cars... .... maybe someone here knew about the car ...Good luck |

Wow, that would be cool if it was a Yenko with the JL8 4 wheel disc brakes. But it almost sounds like it might have been one of the ZL1 experimental cars that supposedly had the 4 wheel disc brakes. See what other information you can get, this could get interesting! There are infact a few documented 6-cylinder cars with JL-8, mostly sold in the north west. Those cars were towing heavy caravans and the discbrakes added some safety going downhill. We have one documented SS350 with JL-8 here in Sweden. Jan |

If the car is indeed vin # 614804, then that car is found. It was in IL last I knew. It is possible that the car is another vin, since we don't have all of the numbers.

i know that it had 4 wheel disc brakes. it had the 427 and possible aluminum heads, but the engine was out of it as it spun a bearing and he traded it off before i got to see the engine back in the car. i remember the YSC on the headrests like it was yesterday. i sure would have loved to have bought it from him but,i had just started driveing then and it was gone before i had a chance to ask about it.
