Someone had to point this out to me because, logically, I used to assume they were the same color.
However, I must take issue with you saying Olds took cues from Chevrolet. Rather, all the brands shared most of the colors in their palette, and each brand was allowed to have a certain number of exclusive colors (for example, Shadow Gray for Chevy, Verdoro Green for Pontiac). These colors were not optional on the W-Machines but, rather, for any Olds A-body. |

![]() Hugger Orange and Daytona Yellow were 1969 Colors available on Chevrolets. While you could certainly try to order these colors as special paint options on '69 Oldsmobiles, I would think it was not common. Didn't Olds advertise some of the special order colors for the W Machines in 1970? |
