Al,
Eric's advice is good advice. And Bill, 512's were only produced up into the 71 model year. If your block was a 73 casting it most likely was a 289 casting #. I've seen a few 512's that were advertised as .125 over @ swap meets, but that would make me nervous. I'd have it checked thoroughly by a competent machinist if it really needs to go .100 over or I'd look into sleeving it if replacement isn't a better option. Chris
