Very cool history and a significant car for sure! Love the column shift automatic.

Couple of curious questions from someone still learning about ZL-1's:

Anyone know what the tag on the dash is in this picture?

Does #2 have it's born with engine?

I noticed it has non-smog exhaust manifolds - is this an anomoly or just something that has been changed over the years?

Absolutely beautiful car, not trying to pick at it, just curious.

"Anyone know what the tag on the dash is in this picture?"

Honestly, I didn't even notice it when I got the pix, but I'm pretty sure it's the "Built by Dick Harrell" tag you see on other Harrell cars.

Also, I'd guess the exhaust manifolds ARE NOT the ones that came on the car. Mike told me the car had a blown iron block in the car when he bought it, but that he already had a ZL-1 engine for the car. Obviously NOT the born-with unit.

I would have thought that would have been a no brainer since only two cars were delivered Dec 31...Hard to lose track that fast.

<span style="font-weight: bold">You'd think so.</span>

So now my question is, where and what number is the Shay Camaro?

<span style="font-weight: bold">Another great question! A lot of us wish we had an answer.</span>

My next question is about the magazine drag test that was done with the &quot;number one&quot; car after delivery...Are we sure that was #1 now not #2?? Fred G. said that #1 was turned around in 3 weeks and ready to race..I know it was cold that day( at the track) but not -22 (?) like it was Dec 30th in LaHarpe. I'm thinking it could have been #2 now while #1 was prepped to race...? Just a question that comes to mind, not tring to start a debate.. I'm interested in learning more!!

<span style="font-weight: bold">We'd all like to know Steve. What better place to start the investigation than right here? </span> </div></div>
