Default ZL1 # 62

The way I read this....These people have the engine out of 62 so they built a replica of the car to put it in? Says the original Car is in Canada. Why Not put it in the car it came in?
Am I Missing something?

The owner of #62 should buy the car. Install the engine in the original #62, put another engine in the fake #62 and sell fake #62 for $60 grand or so.... (what is a beautiful tribute car worth?)

What monetary difference would having the origianl engine in #62 in today's market be?

What would the owner of fake #62 let it go for?

Both the engine and fake # 62 w/o the ZL1 have value to them seperately.

What condition is the real #62 in??

Cannot stand the red interior....

----I believe that all you are really looking at here is two people who dont agree on value. The numbers have to work or at least be close to working to do a deal like this and apparently they dont. It happens. When one or both parties get real maybe something will happen. What one party should or shouldnt do is all based on value or perceived value......Bill S

I met the previous owner of the recreation car a few years ago at the Year One show. He tried to buy the original car from the owner, but he wanted too much. Then the reverse happened and the owner of the car wasn't willing to pay what the engine was worth. So, stalemate. The engine owner took an orignal Z/28 he had that was missing its original engine and built the recreation of the Garnet Red car, but kept the Z/28 center console with gauges.

Same guy also had a legit COPO L72 car that was an ex sotuhern racer. Car was white.

I say "SORRY" it's a clone or tribute or whatever! PLUS with all the fake stampings that people are doing to make a buck, it "MIGHT" not even be the legit engine for #62, IDK. OR are the vin #'s cast into these blocks? I personally think this guys a fool as he has a shop, but asks the question on what "makes" a car, the engine or the body and #'s. C'mon really. There only original once. This eBay sellers a clown.

-----EZ,,,He never said it was anything other than what it is! Hes allowed to pose a question (that he already pretty much knows the answer to). He definetly never said anywhere that the car was original. I know he made some statements about it being "very" close, but I see nothing else. Oh,,,and we all know that they are only original once. Believe me that "only original once" statement has had a huge amount of discussion here in the past. I dont know this guy, but Im willing to bet that you wouldnt call him either a clown or a fool to his face......Bill S
