X11 can be anything with style trim (even L6 engines) except Bigblock or Z/28. COPO 427 can be X11.

Yes that is correct, never a 396 in a X11.
The COPO's were sort of an option to a base car, like the X44 (no style trim) or the X11 with style trim or RS. The first batch of COPO's for Yenko were X66 (bigblock, no trim) Jan |

You should know that the X-codes really didn't have anything to do with the engines or options on the car. It was a designation on how the body should be painted or what trim it should have. X33 and X77 were Z/28 and required stripes. X22 and X66 were 396 and they had a black rear panel. X11 and X44 didn't have any special paintings to the body. X55 were 350 SS without style trim but with the rear fender moldings.
