I would guess the VIN tag was not stolen, just the VIN the body had (hidden VIN) was

that car probably was "re-vin'd" in the 70's and that car has been like that ever since

The news video said the car was a butternut yellow 6 cylinder originally

is there something special about NJ and stolen cars? [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif[/img]
