I tried the 8 inch ralley route like you did and never got it down no matter what size of tire, shackles or spring combo I did with a real GM 8 inch ralley.

I second the 255 60 15 comment. I did them on a 70-72 Chev. 5 spoke and loved them on there. 235 60s up front look nice to but can rub if you like them low low. I went with 225 60 15 in the front to cut down on the rubbing on those same 5 spokes up front. I drove it 1-2 summers with the 235s and 6+ with the 225 before I tore it down for a frame off.

2.5 mand. bent exhaust from Hearthrob would look nice pointing out and down behind the back tires too on a street driver.
